LLM Providers
OpenRouter Integration
Use OpenRouter as a cloud LLM provider in MLJAR Studio. Connect your OpenRouter API key and select a model from its catalog.
Before you start
Activate a lifetime MLJAR Studio license to configure your own AI provider. Open AI Provider Settings in MLJAR Studio to choose a provider.
Create an OpenRouter account and API key, and make sure the account can use your chosen model. Follow the OpenRouter quickstart for account and API setup. Model availability, pricing, and usage limits depend on OpenRouter and the selected model.
Configure OpenRouter
- Open AI Provider Settings and select OpenRouter.
- Paste your OpenRouter API key. Studio uses the OpenRouter endpoint automatically.
- Wait for the model catalog to load. Search the Model field and select a model available to your account.
- Click Test connection, then Save provider.
- Confirm the success message and OpenRouter in the sidebar. Send a short notebook request to verify generation.
Model selection
Use the model identifier supplied by the catalog. Model names and availability can change, so select from the current list rather than copying an old example. Choose a model with the capabilities needed by your workflow, including tool calling for agent tasks.
Where requests run
OpenRouter is a cloud service. Prompts and relevant notebook context are sent through OpenRouter to the selected model provider. Review OpenRouter data collection settings and the selected provider’s terms. For local execution, choose a local server from the provider overview.
Troubleshooting
- If authentication fails, check that you entered an OpenRouter key and that it has not been revoked.
- If models do not load, check network access and retry after entering a valid key.
- For generation errors, check account credits or limits, model availability, and the capabilities of the selected model. Retest and save after choosing another model.
